Question and Answer

How do I give my child permission to post comments in the catalog?

We want kids to share their love of books and reading through participation in the catalog, but there are a few steps needed to make that happen.

In compliance with COPPA (the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act), children under the age of 13 must have parental permission before posting free text comments on our library catalog.

To give your child permission, log into your account, and select My Settings.

Find Child Account Permissions, and follow the instructions given. You will need your child's library card number or username and date of birth.

You can follow your child's comments and ratings in the catalog. You can also withdraw your consent at any time.

Note: Children under the age of 13 will not be able to send or receive private messages in the catalog.
