Question and Answer
I use the Overdrive app and I need to switch. Help!
Overdrive, the company that the library contracts with to provide e-books and digital audiobooks, will no longer support the legacy Overdrive app and MP3-format audiobooks as of November 13, 2024. (The library's Overdrive site will not be going away.) The Overdrive app has been replaced with the Libby app, which was made by the same people with the same goal of connecting you to your favorite e-books and digital audiobooks. If you've tried Libby in the past and weren't convinced, we encourage you to try the app again. You can find more information and answers to your questions here. You can download Libby in the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store or visit libbyapp.com to get started.
- Find your library and sign in
When you open Libby, you'll be guided through simple setup steps to find your library and sign in with your card. - Sync your Overdrive wish list
Once you're signed in, you'll be prompted to sync your Overdrive wish list from an in-app notification. - Start reading & listening
Browse your libraryand find something new to borrow, or start reading the current loans on your Shelf
.
If you use an e-reader, you can continue to download e-books and transfer them via Adobe Digital Editions using either libbyapp.com or wccls.overdrive.com.
If you use a Kindle Fire, you can use the Libby app, check out e-books on our Overdrive website or our Libby website (using either the browser on your Fire or a different device) and then send them to the Kindle app on your Fire (not available for audiobooks), or read and listen in the browser using either our Overdrive website or our Libby website.
If you use a desktop or laptop computer, you can read e-books and listen to audiobooks directly in the browser on our Overdrive website or our Libby website. This requires a constant internet connection.
