What kind of content does Kanopy Kids offer?
Kanopy Kids features films and TV series that entertain and educate children from preschool age to teens. Offerings include animated storybooks from Weston Woods, PBS Kids shows, BBC Muzzy language learning videos, and animated and live action videos for the whole family.
How do I set parental controls?
Setting parental controls on your account means a PIN will be required when attempting to view a title that has not been approved for viewing in Kanopy Kids. This feature prevents your child from stumbling upon unsuitable or mature content on Kanopy.
To set up parental controls, log into your Kanopy account using a browser. Go to your Dashboard and select “Parental Controls,” then click “Turn on.” Create a four-digit PIN and click “Save.”
The parental controls will be activated after exiting Kanopy Kids for the first time after set-up. Your PIN will only be required once per session -- your session ends when you log out or enter and exit Kanopy Kids again.
Does my child need their own Kanopy account?
Kanopy is open to users 18 years of age or older. Users under the age of 18 are required to access Kanopy with the involvement, supervision, and approval of a parent or legal guardian. You can view Kanopy’s Privacy Policy here.
Can I use Kanopy while my child is watching Kanopy Kids on another device?
Yes! Kanopy can be used on multiple devices in different viewing modes at the same time.
